Compare and contrast living at home and in the dormitory(Final)

I love to live with my family even though I am a 22 –year-old man. There are two places where I can live. One is my parents’ house; the other is an apartment that I rent. Some people prefer to living at home, while the others prefer to living in the dormitory?


We all know that nowadays the price for everything is more expensive than long time ago. Everybody wants to save their money by doing something. The first method is eating, and it is also the most important thing in our lives. Do not go outside to the restaurant, if you can cook by yourself. I believe everybody’s parents that can cook, so that you do not pay extra money to eat outside. If you live outside, you do not have much time to prepare your dinner. You should buy the food from outside everyday. Not only the price is more expensive than eating at home but you can not choose many types of food .If you want to save your money when you are just a student, you should probably live with your family better than living outside.

Your family can take care of you when you get some problem. For example, if you are really sick when preparing a very important exam like the entrance exam to university, you need someone like your family to take care of you. Your family can take you to see a doctor, remind you to take a medicine, and prepare a meal for you. Therefore you can concentrate on your study. Do you mean "Unlike living at home, living in the dormitory you got only a few good friends to care you when you are sick. Live at home with your family can protect you when you are weak.

Preferring to living at home does not mean that you are a child. There are a lot of fun and benefits of living with your family. A common saying is “ anything will be solved by many people”(人多好辦事). Your parents took care of you when you were just a little boy, now it is your turn. They are not young any more now, so you can observe what they have a pain or a disease every day if you choose to live at home. Nevertheless, I must admit one thing that you can learn to be independence quickly when you choose to live outside.

Living in the school dormitory or renting an apartment, it can train you to grow up and be independent. I am sure you can learn a lot about how to handle your lives by living outside. Because you should keep a good relationship with your roommates and your friends. So that you can ask them to help you if you have something terrible. I believe the process can train you to solve any problems.


One the other hand, living at home does not mean that you need not to do anything. You still need to help arrange your home, remember to pay the tax revenues, buy the foods or fruits from the market,etc. I think the most important of living with family is everybody can take care each other.
